Copper Fabrics & Clothing

Copper is one of the oldest metals used by mankind and has been in use since 8000 BC.  Its many benefits include an antimicrobial property, preventing the growth of bacteria, viruses, fungi and algae.  Research shows that copper inhibits many bacterial infections such as Pneumonia generators (Staph Aerus), skin problems (Enterobacter aero genes) and diarrhoea (Escherichia coli) for example.

It made perfect sense to incorporate all these positive characteristics of copper into textiles so that we benefit from these antibacterial properties. Furthermore, it also protects skin from infections, helps skin regeneration and combats odour by naturally deodorising.

In 2008, The Environmental Protection Agency of The United States of America (EPA) approved the bactericidal properties of copper.
